I used to work with Gerry at Toddlers N Tots years ago, and I heard about her passing too late to pay my respects. She was the nicest, most caring person I knew, and was always like a mother figure to me, even though we only worked together for a short time. she was the type of person you could never forget, with her warm smile, and funny little jokes. I will never forget her or all the advice she gave to me. She is always in my prayers.

To Jim, Carol, Susan & Michelle,
Gerry was one of the kindest, most gentle women I have ever known. My life is brighter for having known her & having been able to be in her company. Although Jim is the member of the Simkiss family I know the best, I have met you all numerous times over the past few years. I have visited your home many times & have had the pleasure of experiencing Gerry's warm, welcoming smile many times. I'll always remember the times that I would come over to see Jim & comment to Gerry how much I liked her choice of furniture... of course Jim would think this a trivial matter, but me & Gerry would talk & laugh. Everytime I'd stop over, I'd ask Gerry if there was anything "new" she'd added to the living room & she would show me & ask if I'd seen this or that. I would always ask Gerry about the latest picture of one of her grandkids, or a new picture from the yearly Ocean City vacation you all took. & Gerry ALWAYS had the same big, proud, joyful smile on as she beamed about her daughters & grandkids! I'm smiling to myself now just thinking about her. I believe Gerry was one of those special women who are born to be loving, caring Mothers, wives & Grandmoms. This demands strength I can't begin to imagine, yet Gerry not only accepted this role, she cherished it. Each of you is undeniable proof of Gerry's eternal love for you! I miss Gerry too & I am deeply saddened by her passing, but again, my life is brighter & happier for having known her. I wish you all my deepest sympathy & my hope that your lives will slowly begin to brighten & the tears will slowly begin to recede as I think Gerry would want. A part of Gerry is in each of you & will never leave you. I love you all!

Throughout Adam's 4 years at TNT, Gerry would always seem to pop-up as his caregiver at one time or another no matter what classroom she was working in. With Gerry's kindness, love for the children and simple, warm smile I never had to worry about Adam throughout the day. I knew he was in good hands with her.
Gerry was very special to Adam and I know he was special to her, too.
We are very sorry for your tremendous loss. Gerry will be missed, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of so many.

I wanted to share something with all of you:
When Tomorrow Starts Without Me
When tomorrow starts without me,
And I?m not there to see;
If the sun should rise and find your eyes
All filled with tears for me;
I wish so much you wouldn?t cry
The way you did today,
While thinking of the many things,
We didn?t get to say.
I know how much you love me,
As much as I love you,
And each time that you think of me,
I know you?ll miss me too;
But when tomorrow starts without me,
Please try to understand,
That an angel came and called my name,
And took me by the hand,
And said my place was ready,
In heaven far above,
And that I?d have to leave behind
All those I dearly love.
But as I turned to walk away,
A tear fell from my eye,
For all my life, I?d always thought,
I didn?t want to die.
I had so much to live for,
So much yet to do,
It seems almost impossible,
That I was leaving you.
I thought of all the yesterdays,
The good ones and the bad,
I thought of all the love we shared,
And all the fun we had.
If I could relive yesterday,
Just even for awhile,
I?d say good-bye and kiss you
And maybe see you smile.
But then I fully realized,
That this could never be,
For emptiness and memories,
Would take the place of me.
And when I thought of worldly things,
I might miss come tomorrow,
I thought of you, and when I did,
My heart was filled with sorrow.
But when I walked through heaven?s gates.
I felt so much at home.
When God looked down and smiled at me,
From His great golden throne,
He said ?This is eternity,
And all I?ve promised you.?
Today for life on earth is past,
But here it starts anew.
I promise no tomorrow,
But that today will always last,
And since each day?s the same way
There?s no longing for the past.
But you have been so faithful,
So trusting and so true.
Though there were times you did some things,
You knew you shouldn?t do.
But you have been forgiven
And now at last you?re free.
So won?t you take my hand
And share life with me?
So when tomorrow starts without me,
Don?t think we?re far apart,
For every time you think of me,
I?m right here, in your heart.
I am truly sorry for your loss. Your mom/wife was a very special person.

We were saddened by the news of Ms. Gerry's passing. We met Ms. Gerry through our grandaugter Emily at TNT when we dropped her off or picked her up. For the past several years we have marveled at Ms. Gerry for her love and dedication to the children that were in her charge. She will be dearly missed by all and we know that she is already in heaven looking down on all of us. Sincerely, Art and Sheila DiPatri, grandparents of Emily Negron.

Our Thoughts and Prayers are with your family. Mrs. Gerry was such a positive influence in our daughter Emily's life, Emily loved Mrs. Gerry for all of the patience, love and caring she gave her at Toddlers and Tots. We will always remember Mrs. Gerry as a positive influence in the foundation of our daughter's education. We were always greeted with a friendly smile and could always count on her kind words. May God Bless all of you during this difficult time, The Negrón family.

Dear Simkiss Family, with deep sympathy you are in our prayers to find the courage and comfort you need each passing day.
I just met your family tonight for the first time, but I had the privilege over the last few years to not only work with Gerry at TNT, but to have my daughter Brenda enjoy her company as a teacher, helper, and friend.
Brenda graduated this past June from her class, and she was so comfortable and trusting with Gerry and Bev. It made me smile the way Brenda would just go up to Gerry and start talking away telling her whatever the news of the day was like she was the only student in the room. I knew she had great care.
I shared with Brenda what happened to Gerry in simple terms, and she was concerned that we didn't give Gerry her little end of year "teacher appreciation" gift in time. It brought tears to my eyes to realize how much we sometimes all lose track of time, and how we need to show the people we are with today how much we love and appreciate them and to try not to take so many things for granted.
Gerry showed that quality each day she came to work to the kids and her co-workers. She was a truly dedicated loving teacher and friend and inspiration to us all.
God Bless and keep you.

To Gerry's Family:
My heart breaks for all of you.
I first met Gerry many years ago while working at TNT. She was a person that I immediately liked. Where Gerry was there was a smile and usually pictures of grandchildren. She had a tremendous capacity for loving, caring and listening. The world was a better place with Gerry in it.
Our loss is heavens gain.
Love, Cheryl Macconi

Gerry was such a special person to
our family. My children enjoyed seeing her every day at TNT and
loved her very much. She would always take a few moments each day when we picked up our children to
talk to us, and she always had stories to tell about her family and
grandchildren. You could just see how much her family meant to her. Gerry will always be a special person who we will always remember. We know she is continuing her wonderful work with the children in heaven. Our thoughts and prayers are with you always. Love, The durham Family

I met Gerry 10 years ago, her first year at Toddlers & Tots. She had my older daughter then and this year had my youngest. She was such a beautiful person. It was great to see her when I picked up the kids in the evening. I can't recall ever seeing her without a smile on her face. She would share stories about her daughters and grandsons. You were to light of her life. I am thankful to have had such a wondeful woman in mine and my children's lives.
She will be sadly missed.....our prayers and thoughts are with you,

To Gerry's family,
To me Gerry is the definition of friend. She was supportive, never judgemental, and knew how to really listen. We shared conversation, love of reading, laughter and tears. She had a heart with many rooms, she was here for a purpose, to share a special kind of love. She touched many lives never to be forgotton. I loved and respected her with all my heart. Her family was her pride and joy, her world.

To the family of Mrs. Gerry, I have worked with Gerry for the last 4 years at Toddlers'n'Tots, I have grown to love her like she was my own mother. She would often share with me stories of her daughters and remind me daily that I reminded her of them so much because I was going through the same things that they did ... I think it brought her back to a time that she loved. This loss is so tremedous for you all that I want you to know that she will never be forgotten and her love will live on in so many of the children's lives that she has touched. I cannot even believe that this happened, we must think of it that heaven needed a beautiful angel to guide us, so she was the perfect one. I thank you for letting me be able to know such a wonderful person for the 4 years that I did...It will be a lifetime that I will remember and love her! My DEEPEST sympathy to all of you. ~Tara Battaglia
