I’m pretty sure I met your mom at the Woodbury Mews well over a year ago when my father in law was also a resident. We initially struck up a conversation when I saw her doing a very intricate puzzle. I believe the puzzle was of an English garden, and from there we spoke of gardening and our mutual interest in growing flowers, vegetables and perennials. I live in Mantua and she told me about her daughter also living in Mantua right near the Home Depot. We talked about the bad storm in 2015 and how it damaged so many properties including her daughters. A few times we sat out front on a nice spring / summer early evening, and continued our conversations on a variety of topics. She apparently had assisted the staff in planting that small perennial garden off to the side of the front entrance, and she took me on a small tour to show me the various plants. It was easy to remember your “Rita” because my own favorite aunt who had passed was “Rita” also. I loved hearing your mom talk with her beautiful accent. Anyway, when I saw the obituary in today’s paper, I was very sad. She was a lovely person, and one not easily forgotten. I’m glad I had the opportunity to meet her and spend some time with her.
