Legacy

Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA where Larry and Elaine raised their family in Feltonville on 440 E Louden St., Philadelphia, PA. Larry made sure to provide his children with a Catholic education.

Larry worked for AT&T for 25 plus years as a lineman and then a service technician in Center City, Philadelphia, PA and also a few years in Harrisburg until he retired at the age of 58.

Larry was a natural athlete, he exceled in every sport and was a fierce competitor. Larry played in softball leagues every season, usually as shortstop.  One thing for sure, he was always fourth batter because he could tear the stitches off the ball.  He was an excellent baseball player, almost made the pros. He also enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing and crabbing, biking, hiking, skiing, football in high school, he played varsity as a freshman to senior year. But most of ALL, he loved Golf!  Larry played golf at least 3 days a week from the time he retired to the current Pandemic Crisis.  He made some very close friends on the golf course who claimed to have spent more time with Larry then with their own families.

Larry was also a very skilled carpenter, he made the family bird houses regularly, he would repair his home, and anyone else who needed a helping hand. Larry always made himself available to friends and family.  Larry and his son John were a great team installing oversized garage doors together for some time.

Larry could tear a car apart and rebuild it. He once owned his own car shop (D & K Auto Repair). His son Larry Jr. inherited his awesome auto mechanic skills.

Larry enjoyed having breakfast with his sons on Saturday mornings unless it was the pretty waitress who knows lol, and visiting us and his daughters often or just a phone call to make sure we were okay.  Family gatherings were commonplace for him.

Larry’s longest and strongest bond was with his first born, his daughter, Ann whom tirelessly managed his later years until his final days. A true Matriarch and personnel assistant.

Matthew and Alec would help him mow his lawn or trim a tree when needed.  Larry had a special place in his heart for Angela.  He loved all his children and grandchildren and never missed a birthday card or Christmas gift.

Larry enjoyed spending time with his sisters, brother, and brother in laws and families at their beach house in Seaside Heights, NJ in their younger years.  Playing cards all night long.  Enjoying the casinos often as well.  He had a close friendship with his sister Barbara, They enjoyed each other’s company often (when they weren’t fighting lol).

Larry always made time for everyone in his life.

Larry enjoyed shopping at Sam’s club even when he didn’t need anything, he always had a surplus of water and toiletries.

Larry had a full and wonderful life surrounded by family and friends who loved him unconditionally.
