Nancy and I, (Tony, Mary's brother) will miss her. We remember her great smile, warm greeting and her efficient, yes efficient manner. She always struck us as an accomplished woman, a woman in command of herself. That self assurance spread to anyone near her. You could not be in Flavia's presence without being mindful that you needed to "measure up" to her standards. She inspired others to do their jobs as well as she did.
Her family will no doubt send her home to God with many warm memories of a soul that accomplished her journey, and did it so well. While we can't send her home with as many memories, we can include the red cloth rosary Nancy made for her. When Flavia learned that Nancy could make these rosaries (a parish group makes them for soldiers, prisoners, the ill, missionaries and many others) she asked for one – in fiery RED! She was very specific (and very persuasive). She used that rosary until she tired of the journey here. Now she will visit the Lady she prayed to so often on that rosary. And the Lady will smile on her ... She's home.
A Mass will be offered for Flavia on the day her family bids her goodbye. Flavia will be at the Mass. Everyone who admired and will miss Flavia can attend the Mass in spirit with her. Flavia gets a Mass - no virus will win. Flavia doesn't monkey around!
Rest, rest, in peace Flavia. And say hello to the Lady for us. She'll know you by your red rosary. She will... Nancy and Tony
