I loved working with Barbara. Even in the times when she was struggling with her health, she strove to be upbeat, and helpful. How wonderful that we now have a tree we can watch grow, as she watched many children grow. Her spirit reached out beyond the library walls, and into the community, in countless ways. What a wonderful person, what a great loss. Deep condolences to her family. Know that she often spoke of you with love. She loved you very much, and know that her love grows in you. How wonderful to have known her. How wonderful to know we, I, will see her again. In peace, love, and sympathy. Lynette Milanese

Barbara was a super sweet and kind person. She meant a lot to my children, my husband and me. She always had a smile and she always looked for ways to be helpful and have fun and teach the kids. The pictures below are from a Halloween party at the library around 2012 where Barbara dressed up like little bo peep. My condolences to friends and family. Barbara will be greatly missed. Rest In Peace.

My son attended many library activities with Barbara, and her joy at being with the children was always evident. He still has a book that Barbara gave him as a prize that he refers to as his "Miss Barbara book," and he refers to the East Greenwich library as the "Miss Barbara library." Our family's thoughts are with you, and a piece of Miss Barbara will always live with us as part of our son's fond memories with her.

Barbara was wonderful to work with. She had such a warm and caring spirit - always quick to share a smile and of course, a joke! She spoke of her family often, and with love. I am so sorry for your loss. - Nancy Polhamus

My heart and prayers are with you Keith Sr. , Keith Jr , Phillip, Rachel, Bradley and families. I have so many beautiful memories of such a beautiful woman. Holidays were the best. Barbara always nade her delicious bread. We would eat it in the car on our Florida trips. She alwYs had something for everyone of the childre. Santa hats and other treats were memorable. I remember aying softball on a cold day, time in the pool for someone' birthday ans so many other good times. Barbara was also a role model for me of parenting and loving her children and later grandchildren, as I was just 18 when I first got to know her. I know she will always be in the hearts and minds of all she touched. God Bless. Karen Schonewise (Apriletti)

Dear Keith,
Michael and I are so very sorry for your loss. Barbara was such a kind and beautiful person inside and out.
She always made us feel so comfortable when we were together at various family events. We knew we would have a good time when she was there. She was kind, funny, spontaneous, and compassionate. We would have to say that Barbara was truly blessed with all gifts of the Holy Spirit and we will miss her. May she rest in the loving arms of Jesus and we pray that God comforts you and your children during this difficult time.
With love and Sympathy,
Patty and Michael Crim

Dear Keith and Family, We just want to let you know what a joy it has been to know Barbara. All the good times, the milestones and holiday celebrations we shared. Joyful times like communions, weddings and graduations and some sad times too. Barbara always remembered everyone. She was creative and talented and put her heart in everything she did. She was a great host and cook and no one was ever left hungry for food or friendship. She will be remembered by so many people, at her church and her library friends too. Becca is so grateful to have a job there with the help of a good word from Barbara. She also helped my niece with Cystic fibrosis through Make a Wish Foundation. She has been an inspiration to all of us in her faith and love and friendship. We were blessed to be able to visit with her a few months back and even in her illness she was diligently working on finishing her degree. We could see her faith shining through along with her positive attitude and persistence in completing what she set out to accomplish. She will always have a place in our hearts as well as all of you. You are and always will be family to us and if there is anything we can do for you, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. It has truly been a blessing to share our lives with Barbara and all of you. Much Love and Blessings to All of You, Paul, Dianne & Becca & Mom too

I knew Barbara through church and when I took my granddaughter to story time at the Gibbstown Library. She had the patience of a saint with those children. After the story there would be a craft and snack which everyone looked forward to enjoying together. She was a special lady. May she enjoy eternal life with our Lord. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

Barbara was so generous and gracious when I brought Jason to do his homework at the Library. We knew her from the reading to the animals program and her work with the children at the library. We came to love Barbara dearly and then we realized that we were connected through Mary Epting, her mother. Our families are related through love. Barbara's kindness will be remembered forever. May God soften your grief.
