Dear Bittner family,
Kathleen and I extend our sincere condolences on the passing of your beloved father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
As a good friend of Dan’s for over 30 years, I had the pleasure of visiting with Mr. Bittner a few times. Although they were brief meetings, there was no mistaking his pride in, and love for, his outstanding family!
I’ve often expressed that the wonderful lives those of us who enjoyed growing up in the 1950s and 1960s was due to the fact that our parents were members of what is often called the "greatest generation"---after experiencing the challenges and sacrifices needed to defend freedom during WWII as young adults, they continued to make sacrifices to make certain their children, our generation, benefitted from the freedom and opportunities available thanks to their efforts. Our parents truly made the 50s and 60s---and beyond--- "Happy Days" for us! And, they proved to be super grandparents, too
Although this is a time of sadness, I am certain, in time, that the wonderful memories you have of Mr. Bittner will once again bring a twinkle to your eye, and a smile to your lips, every time you think of him.
