Obituary of Joseph Smithson
Joseph Smithson, a longtime resident of Woodbury, New Jersey passed away on August 2. He was 72.
Legacy
Joe was born in Philadelphia and moved with his family to Woodbury when he was in the fifth grade. He developed a love and expertise in everything mechanical and motor related. At an early age he became the family auto mechanic to his father and two brothers. The family driveway often resembled his latest auto rebuilding projects. Joe was a proud U.S. Army veteran, and served in Okinawa during the Vietnam War on a missile site where he was one of the chief mechanics. Following his Army service, Joe had a long and successful career with MHS Lift, Inc. (Material Handling Supply).
Family
Joe was the loving husband of the late Joan Brucker Smithson, and is survived by his daughter Kathleen (Ramon, Jr.) Cortes; his grandchildren Ramon, III, Anamarie, and Andres; his brother John and his six nieces.
Funeral Services
Funeral services and interment will be held privately.
