Upon learning of the passing of George (I've always called him Dutch), I was shocked and saddened. However, after getting over the initial shock, I began to reminisce about the good old days. My parents and my brother and I would often travel to Wyoming Avenue in Audubon to spend time with Uncle George and Aunt Shirley and my first cousins, Dutch and Linda. We always had a great time together, and the first time my brother and I ever saw a TV show in color was "Bonanza" at their home. We felt that that was absolutely the greatest! Since that time, Dutch and I went through good times and bad times together, but we were always there for each other. Dutch was not only there for me, and I for him, but I want to emphasize that Dutch was there for everyone in our family. For that, all of Dutch's cousins (especially me) are most grateful. In short, Dutch was a protector of others, whether it be during his time in the Gloucester County Sheriff's Office or the New Jersey State Police or as a private detective for our law firm upon his retirement. Dutch, indeed, lived a life worthy of respect and commendation. We are all grateful for his time with us, and he will be sorely missed.
