Obituary of Phyllis Sandelier

 Phyllis Sandelier (Iwanowicz)., of Turnersville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at the age of 81.
 
Legacy

Married to Peter Sandelier, Jr. for 57 years, Phyllis was a devoted mother to P.J. and Mike. Phyllis and Pete made a home in Turnersville for over 22 years.  Phyllis was a licensed hairdresser who worked out of her basement in a homemade salon built by her husband.  After her basement business clientele grew more than her basement could handle, she became an entrepreneur and opened her own business in the mid 80’s.  She owned and operated PJ’s Salon in Turnersville before moving to sunny Florida in 1993 to enjoy retirement.  Together Phyllis and Pete lived in Springhill, Florida and Rotonda West, Florida before moving back to New Jersey in 2014. Phyllis was a true hostess for all family and friends who entered her home.  She loved family and friend gatherings and making people happy with her delicious home-made cooking. “Coffee Talk” and dessert time were her favorite time of day. She kept family and friends close to her heart. Phyllis was a true animal lover and found enjoyment in classic movies. Phyllis had amazing energy and a truly remarkable work ethic.  She was a fighter and a survivor for so many years as her health deteriorated.  She left this earth peacefully surrounded by her family who loved her.

She is the beloved wife of 57 years to the late Peter Sandelier, Jr.; devoted mother of Michael M. (Donna), and Peter J. (Kim); loving grandmother of Nicole Marie and Lauren Catherine, Michael, Alicia, Jason, and Aurielle; cherished sister to the late Lewis Iwanowicz and Robert Iwanowicz;  caring sister-in-law and loving aunt to several nieces and nephews. 

 
 
Farewell Tribute

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Phyllis’ visitation on Friday, December 4, 2020  from 9:00 am to 10:30 am in the McGuinness Funeral Home, 573 Egg Harbor Road, Sewell. Funeral mass will follow  at 11:00 AM at Saints Peter and Paul RC Church, 362 Ganttown Road,  Turnersville. Interment will be held privately.
