Obituary of Gregorio Verain

Gregorio Verain, a resident of Turnersville, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 1, 2020.  He was 79.

 Legacy

Gregorio was born in Tiaong, Quezon, Philippines and emigrated to the United States with his family in 1996.  In the Philippines he worked as a school teacher and then later became a school principal.  Many years later he worked at Ancora and then finally retired from the Health Services department at Camden County College. 

Memories of Gregorio that everyone will cherish are how he loved going to the casinos and gardening, but mostly he will be remembered for his love of family time and playing with his grandchildren.  He had such an uplifting and fun personality, and loved being around family and friends.

Family

He is the beloved husband of the late Perla; devoted father of Lea Verain (Jay) and Eric Verain (Marygrace); cherished grandfather of Erica, Emily and Eliza.  He leaves behind many brothers and sisters in the Philippines as well as other extended family members. 

 Farewell Tribute

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation in the McGuinness Funeral Home , 573 Egg Harbor Road, Sewell, NJ  08080 on Wednesday, December 9, 2020  from 5-8 pm and also again on Thursday, December 10, 2020 from 9:30 to 10:15 . Funeral Mass will follow at Our Lady of Hope Parish at St. Jude’s Church, 402 S. Black Horse Pike, Blackwood, NJ  08012 at 11 AM.  Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
