Obituary of Judith Wicks
Judith (Gentile) Wicks, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020 after battling Covid-19. She was 81.
Legacy
Born in Brooklyn, NY and lived in the Richmond Hill section of Queens and graduated in 1957 from John Adams High School in Queens, NY. Judy put her clerical skills to use, working in the Trust Department at the Bank of New York in Manhattan before marrying and moving to Nesconset, Long Island to raise her family. She moved to Turnersville 43 years ago and was the office manager for the Gloucester County YMCA Extension Center in Turnersville. Judy spent many years running their summer program.
Later in life she met her partner Dan Lang, and together they enjoyed traveling, going to the casinos and watching the latest Netflix releases. Judy loved visiting Cape May with her dear friends Mae and Ted Bruss, hosting bridge club, and going to the movies. Over the years she hosted many family celebrations, enthusiastically led the singing of "Happy Birthday" for her children and grandchildren. She made the best roast pork, fudge that was out of this world, and a mean Whiskey Sour, always saying it just had to be made with Southern Comfort.
Family
The loving matriarch of her family, she is survived by her partner of 25 years, Daniel Lang of Turnersville; her daughter, Stephanie Miller of Glassboro; two sons, Jeffrey Wicks and his wife Michele of Turnersville; Daren Wicks and his wife Karen of Florence; and four grandchildren, Nicole and Jeffrey Wicks, and Mason and Colin Wicks; and several nieces and nephews.
