Obituary of Paul J. Greenwood, Sr.
Paul J. Greenwood, Sr. 87, of Thorofare, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 3, 2021.
Legacy
Born and raised in Woodbury, New Jersey, Paul was a lifelong resident of Thorofare. He was a proud United States Marine Veteran serving from 1953 to 1956. Paul met the love of his life Margaret Rose, built their own home in Thorofare and raised their 4 boys, Paul, Jr., Tom, David and Patrick. Paul retired from DuPont as a manager in 1986 and also worked for Philadelphia Naval Shipyard and Mobil Refinery. Paul helped his son, David, with his business, Hickory Nut Landscaping, and a school crossing guard in West Deptford.
An honest, loving and strong gentleman, Paul was devoted to his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a devout Catholic and a man of his word. Paul was a true outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and feeding the deer. He was also the neighborhood handyman and was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone, especially his loving neighbors. Paul was friendly and humble and was a true mentor to his four boys as he taught them the true values of life. Enjoying his walks and bike rides through town, Paul would make his way to Bill and Eileen's Deli for his coffee and to Red Bank Battlefield.
