Obituary of Robert C Truhan III

Legacy

Robert (Bobby) of Martinsburg, WV (formerly of Woodbury Heights, NJ) left us suddenly on January 2, 2021 on his 40th birthday.  He is survived by his son, Tyler Patrick, parents Robert Jr and Debra, Sisters Judy Costello (Tom), Renee Dobrzynski (Matthew), Amy Beckett (Brian), Lisa Paulus (Joseph), Aunt Nancy De Zutter (Larry), Uncle Allen Truhan (Ann), 10 nephews, 1 niece,  best friend Spencer Little (Bethany), goddaughter Lillian and godson Kevin and partner Crystal Kirkpatrick.  He was predeceased by his mother Cynthia Gehret, maternal grandparents, Mervin and Helen Gehret, John and Margaret Wilson, paternal grandparents Robert Sr and Ethel Truhan.  He is also survived by many Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends.

Bobby will be remembered as a loyal, passionate, loving man with a heart of gold to every single person who had his heart.  He loved his family, all Philadelphia sports teams especially the Eagles, country music, motorcycles, Skyline Drive, the mountains of West Virginia, the Great Smokies, and riding with his brothers as much as he could.   He also loved building and fixing things.  He was also the person who would change your oil or fix your motorcycle.  He absolutely loved helping people and would give the shirt off his back if you needed it. He spent time as a volunteer Firefighter, ambulance driver and EMT where he impacted so many lives. That gave him immense joy!  He had quite the sarcastic tongue and he was so funny! He loved antagonizing his sisters whenever he could.  You could see the joy on his face from doing that.  He was the classic middle child in a house full of women and that is why he always used humor to get his point across.

In the last few years, he was enjoying his life doing exactly what he loved, fixing motorcycles, riding and spending time with his mountain brothers.  Bobby always said that he wanted to live in the mountains and enjoy a sunrise ride whenever he could.  We are so grateful that he was living his best life in his favorite place.

We can never replace our Bobby. He will be forever missed by so many.  He would tell you that his greatest accomplishment was his son Tyler.  He loved him so much.  Our hearts will never recover from losing him, but we take comfort knowing that he will never be forgotten.
