Obituary of James Foster

James Foster, of National Park, NJ passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at the age of 89. 

Legacy

Jimmy was a member of Local 825, NJ International Union of Operating Engineers in Springfield, NJ and was a proud Navy Veteran.  During his time in the Navy, he was a boxer and served as a corpsman during his tour in the Korea Conflict and assisted doctors and nurses in the field.

“Big Jimmy” as he was affectionately known, truly enjoyed vacationing and going to the casinos. He traveled all over with his wife and would often go on group trips with his close friends, be it on a cruise or an island.  Family and friends will remember Jimmy as being “One of a kind”, he had a fun loving and special personality that everyone loved being around. He will be sorely missed by all.

Beloved husband of 54 years to Kathleen “Kass” (nee: Kirk) Foster; loving father to the late Christian Foster; loving step-father to Donald Hetrick, Daniel Hetrick (Louise) and James Castor; dear brother of Jane Hickox; cherished grandfather to Amanda Hetrick, Daniel Valora and the late Kristopher Valora.  Jimmy is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, friends and extended family members.

Farewell Tribute

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 17, 2021 from 5 to 7 PM at the McGuinness Funeral Home, 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury, NJ 08096.   Funeral Service will take place during the visitation.
