Obituary of Russell M Tunis

Russell M. Tunis, of Sewell, NJ passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at the age of 88.

Legacy

Russ, along with his late wife Ruth, owned R&R Catering.  They worked together, side by side, for 26 years.  Ruth would make all of the food and Russ would take it from there.  He drove his food truck all around local businesses in Woodbury and West Deptford area. He had a great personality and loved meeting and chatting with customers and friends.

Russell proudly served our county, serving in the Army in the Korean War. 

He loved going to the casinos, playing the lottery (Especially the scratch offs!)and back yard pool parties over the years.  All the grandkids loved going over and playing in the pool with “Pop-Pop”.  Most of all he loved his Friday night dinners with his wife and enjoyed taking her for a spin on the dance floor anytime he could.

Beloved husband for 62 years to the late Ruth (McCormack); loving father of Russell J. Tunis (Jeannette), Barbara A. Secrest (Michael) and Joanne Carel (William); devoted grandfather of Christine, Brian, Nicholas, Nicole and Jason and great grandfather of Ava, Angelina, Gavin, Mykenzie, Madelynn and Morghan; cherished brother of Dorothy Kern (Tom) and the late John Tunis (Dolly), Florence Roeder and Ester Tunis.

Farewell Tribute

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Monday, February 15, 2021 from 12 pm to 1:30 pm at the McGuinness Funeral Home, 573 Egg Harbor Road, Sewell, NJ 08080.  Funeral service will begin at 1:30.  Interment will follow at Woodbury Memorial Park, West Deptford, NJ.
