Ruth was a person who loved her family and her friends. To her – they were one and the same. If you were her friend, then you were family. She loved nothing more than to have her family gathered around enjoying delicious food, great music and, of course, a lot of laughs!
Not too many years ago, every Saturday night was a party down at Jim and Ruth’s Drunk Tank. These are some of the greatest memories I have of both of them. I always looked forward to her Christmas parties. You could tell Ruth enjoyed throwing them, and she spent many months planning.
Ruth was a great entertainer. As everyone knows, she loved music, and when the family got together to play, Ruth looked forward to it for weeks and would get a special light in her eyes when talking about it. As much as she enjoyed playing music, Ruth loved to sing as well. You knew you were in for a treat if you were in the Drunk Tank, and Ruth plugged in the Karaoke machine.
These are all great memories that I am very glad to have.
Ruth – I thank you for great times, many laughs, and for embracing my family as your family. You are missed, and both you and Jim will always be remembered with smiles.
