Obituary of Thomas J. Weer, Sr.

Thomas J. Weer, Sr. of West Deptford, New Jersey, passed away at home on Friday, February 19, 2021.  He was 61.

Legacy

Tom enjoyed the simpler things in life.  He worked for Catelli Brothers, Inc. in Camden for about 16 years as a butcher.  Away from work, Tom liked to go fishing, watching tv, and relaxing on the weekends while listening to country music.  He loved Dodge Rams, and he was very proud of his truck. He was always excited to tell people about all of the new features. Tom also had a love for elephants and had a hobby collecting elephant figurines. Tom had a witty personality and he loved to laugh, he was very funny even unintentionally. Tom first met Kelly while working at Philly Foods together in 1995. While working together, they instantly fell in love and later married on August 23, 1997.

In late August of 2020, he was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Tom fought for months with treatment, but the cancer was very aggressive and still spreading. February of 2021 Tom came home under the care of his family and Angelic Health Hospice who was able to keep him comfortable. Tom was happy to be surrounded by his family in the comfort of his own home.

 

Family

He is the beloved husband of 23 years to Kelly (Walsh) Weer; devoted father of Traci Boudreaux (Jeremy), Rebecca Jamerson, Thomas Weer, Jr., Nicole Weer, Ashley Weer, Daniel Weer and Amanda Weer; dear brother to Sharon Weer, Richard Weer and Kenny Weer; loving grandfather to Alexis, Caleb and Maegen.  Tom is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Thomas is predeceased by his parents, Ellsworth and Doris (Korpack) Weer; son, Jack E. Weer; and sisters, Ethel and Mary.

Funeral services for Tom will be held privately.
