Obituary of Cecilia Abrenica Luz

Cecilia A Luz, Born, February 1, 1935, at the age of 86,  passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2021.

 Legacy

Lola, as she was affectionately called by her loved ones, was a wonderful mother who put her children’s needs before her own.  She was a beautiful woman, inside and out.  Lola was a woman of faith and devoted to her family. She loved to paint, enjoyed bible study, and had a talented green thumb.  Lola was an incredible cook.  We will miss her tapa, giniling, adobo and lumpia.

Born and raised in Lipa City, Philippines, Lola graduated college, became a teacher, married and started a family.  After the sudden death of her husband Ramon, Lola was left to take care of her four young children; they were her heart and soul.   In 1976, Lola, moved to Brooklyn, New York to establish a life in the United States for her children.  She worked as a Nurse aide in a nursing home until 1987.  In August of 1987, she moved with her family in Deptford, New Jersey where she lived her life.

Family

 A Beloved wife of the late Ramon U. Luz; a devoted mother of Weng Weng, Bem-Bem and Bobby Beronilla, Rey and Marie Luz and the late Ato, husband of Malyn Luz.

A Loving Grandmother, “Lola” to Sammy and Mike, Kurt, Bryan and Grace, Justin, Johnny, Lauren, Amanda, Gabbie and John-Rey.

Dearly beloved daughter of the late Marciano and Fe Abrenica. A sister to Jing, Emmy and Efren Abrenica and predeceased by her sister, Guia Leyesa, brother Boy & Lando Abrenica.

Lola, is survived by her loving pet pals, Rosco Beronilla and Penny Luz.

 Farewell Tribute

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Lola's viewing HERE on Friday, February 26, 2021, 3:30 - 5:00 PM and 7:00 - 9:00 PM in the McGuinness Funeral Home, 573 Egg Harbor Road, Sewell, NJ  08080.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on HERE Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 11:00 AM in Infant Jesus Parish at St. John Vianney RC Church, 2901 Good Intent Road, Deptford, NJ  08096.  Interment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or/and Central Association of Miraculous Medal.
