We (our Lewis/Pierson family) are just receiving notice of Roy's passing. The Lewis family were life time friends with all the Mellor Family. Roy has been known as Uncle Roy to our family and my sister named one of her children Roy in honor of him. We hope we did not miss the services for Claire or Roy and would appreciate hearing from you (his nieces) on this subject. Please respond on this page with any service date. Thank You ! Dear Family of Roy Mellor, I have many fond memories of playing tennis and ":pick-up" basketball games with Roy at Charlie and Mary Pierson's back in the 1960s. Roy was always a good sport and a nice guy. I was playing youth basketball at the time, and Charlie Pierson was helping coach the team I was on...Roy came to one of the games at Deptford High, and he took part in our pre-game shooting practice---although we did not have three-point shots in those days, Roy started shooting from long range and amazed everyone by making about 10 shots in a row! I always tried to get on his team for pick-up games after that! The last time I talked to Roy was many years ago, but I still remember him as a great guy! My sincere condolences on his passing.
