John was a great man in many ways. He always drove his pickup in the Memorial Day parades here in West Deptford. He allowed his fellow veterans the chance to sit on chairs in the back of his truck. We were getting too old to walk that route so John saved us from that long grueling trek. The places where he would put fishing poles he used for flags during the parade. It was a joyful day for John. John also served as a bartender at the legion hall. He was a quiet but happy man and dearly loved his wife and children.
The Memorial Day parades won’t be the same without John but we veterans know he will be still with us forever. “There is no more pain, no more sorrow and every tear is wiped dry.”
American Legion Post 100,
Gerald O’Hare

Dear John:
You are with your beloved wife and at peace and harmony. You will be missed on earth but with God is what gives us relief. God blesses the family left to grieve but rejoice that John is safe with his maker. Live as he would have wished and do God’s will and you will get through this trying time.
