Obituary of William E Ehresmann
WILLIAM (Bill) EHRESMANN
It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Bill Ehresmann, on evening of April 28, 2021, at the age of 82. Bill was born on November 19th, 1938 in Philadelphia, PA and spent the years of 1976 through the present living in Washington Township. NJ.
He was a graduate of Olney High School in Philadelphia, and was honorably discharged from the United States Navy, having spent considerable time in the Mediterranean. Upon return to civilian life, he worked as an Assistant District Engineer with the Philadelphia Board of Education from which he retired in 1981 to accept a position as Shift Manager of Engineering at the Tropicana Hotel & Casino prior to its opening. He retired from Tropicana in 1996.
Bill was predeceased by his parents Charles & Dorothy (nee Stauder) Ehresmann and his brother Robert.
He is survived by his Wife Elizabeth (Betsy) Yoachum nee McAdams of 21 years, Sister Ruth DeLeo, Sons Robert (April), Kenneth Ehresmann, and Daughter Donna Scanlon, Stepson Michael Yoachum (Colleen), Grandchildren, Robert & Sasha Ehresmann, Michael & Lauren Ehresmann, Taylor and Colton Scanlon and Elaina Caputo, Chase and Cole Yoachum. Bill is also survived by multiple great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Bill loved having a large yard, tending to the grass and every year growing a large variety of vegetables, the overabundance of which he happily shared with his neighbors. He loved ‘fixing’ things and gladly shared that knowledge with them, also. He took up snow skiing and loved it.
A viewing will be held on Friday, May 7th, from 11:00AM until 1:00PM at McGuinness Funeral Home, 573 Egg Harbor Road, Sewell (Washington Township) 08080 and Funeral Service at 1:00PM at the funeral home. Interment will be held at a later date for the family at the Gloucester County Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery.
