Obituary of Lawrence Benoff
Lawrence Benoff, 84, of Glassboro, New Jersey, passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2021.
LEGACY
Born and raised in South Philadelphia, Larry was a United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War serving from 1957 – 1959. He was owner and operator of Bob and Larry’s Auto Parts Store in South Philadelphia for over 40 years. In 1970, Larry moved to New Jersey and was a resident of Stratford, Washington Township and most recently, Glassboro. He had a great love for animals, he was a K9 trainer in the Army, and is survived by his best friend Max. He loved to travel, and especially loved taking cruises. His favorite feature was their all you can eat buffets. He loved to gamble and play cards, and especially enjoyed watching and betting on horses. Larry was an avid reader of true crime and western novels. His favorite shows were on the history channel and he was always watching Law and Order.
A gentle soul, Larry was very friendly and likable. He got along with everyone he met and always made fast friends. He was the peacemaker in the family and was happiest when surrounded by loved ones. He and Anna Marie were married for more than 50 years and he was a devoted, caring husband.

Beloved husband of the late, Anna Marie (nee Aquino); devoted father of Cindy (Jim) Seeley, Joanne (Vincent) Ideo, Wayne (Beth) Morrison, Anna Marie Marsico, Paul Morrison and the late Diane (Kenny) Matz;; brother of the late Marvin Benoff and his surviving wife, Zena; loving Poppop of Nicole, Erik (Amber), Natalie, Joanna, Mary Kate, Ellen, Wayne Jr., Ian, Josh, Taylor, Lisa, Justin, Monique, Michael, Paul, Sean, Zoey, Autumn and great Poppop of Reagan, Bella, Kendall and Jax.
FAREWELL CEREMONY
Relatives and friends are invited to Larry’s viewing on Saturday, May 22, 2021, 8:30 – 10:00 AM at the McGuinness Funeral Home, 573 Egg Harbor Road, Sewell, NJ 08080. Graveside Ceremony and Military Honors will follow at Gloucester County Veteran Memorial Cemetery, Williamstown, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Larry’s name to Voorhees Animal Orphanage at www.vaonj.org.
