Obituary of Marie F Purnell

Marie Purnell (nee Hansen), 98 of National Park, New Jersey passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 27, 2021.

Legacy

Marie worked for the United States Postal Service as a clerk for 26 years until she retired in 1983.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in National Park and sang in the choir.  She loved her town and was a member of the School Board, Democrat Club, Ambulance Association, Athletic Association, Fourth of July Committee and an honorary member of the National Park PTA for her many years of service. 

Family

Born in Mount Ephraim, NJ to the late Effie and Holger Hansen. Beloved wife of the late Augustus R. Purnell, Sr.   Devoted mother of Augustus R. Purnell Jr. (MaryBeth) of Wyomissing, PA and Sue (Bill) Russell of National Park.  Treasured grandmother of Thomas (Shari) Russell of Blackwood and loving great grandmother to Alyson Russell.  Dear sister of the late Harold Hansen of Deptford, NJ.  Survived by her sister-in-law, Betty Purnell, of Woodbury and many nieces and nephews.

Farewell Tribute
