Obituary of Cynthia B. Richmond
Cynthia B. Richmond, of Woodbury, New Jersey, passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2021. She was 96.
Legacy
Born and raised in North Bergen, NJ to Michael and Nella Bertini, Cynthia moved to Nutley, NJ in 1956 where she and her husband, James, owned Mobile Hydraulics and Welding Services. In 1988, Cynthia and James moved to the Lakebridge community of Deptford, NJ. Cynthia was very active in the community, serving on the Pinochle Movie Sunshine Ladies and the Welcoming Committee. However, she will best be remembered as the line dancing teacher for 17 years. Mrs. Richmond dedicated her time by volunteering for Meals On Wheels for 15 years. In 2017, Cynthia became a permanent resident of the Brightview Woodbury Lake.
Mrs. Richmond was an avid reader. She enjoyed socializing with friends, playing Pinochle, Bingo and Mahjong. Her favorite place to be was surrounded by her loving family, especially the twinkle in her eye, her great grandson DJ, and dear friends.
Family
She is the beloved Wife of the late James T. Richmond; devoted mother of James M and daughter in law, Jean, and Janis Gray and son in law, Ken; loving grandmother to James Jr., Steven, and Andrew Richmond and James J. Gray and Cristina Anderson (Kevin); cherished great grandmother to Devon James Anderson; dear sister to Diane Gruber (the late Charles) and her brother, the late Charles Bertini. Cynthia is also survived by many extended family and friends.
Farewell Tribute
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Monday, June 21, 2021 at 9:00AM in the McGuinness Funeral Home - Woodbury, 34 Hunter Street. Please don’t hesitate to wear brightly colored clothing as we are here to celebrate Cynthia’s long and happy life. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM at the Holy Angels Parish at St. Patrick's Church, Woodbury. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery, Chews Landing, NJ.
