Obituary of James Bennett

James P Bennett, of Somerdale, New Jersey, passed away suddenly on Sunday, June 20, 2021.  He was 47.
 
Legacy
An outdoorsman at heart, and a genuinely hard-working man, is what captures the essence of James. He was born and raised in Vineland and graduated from Bridgeton High School with the class of 1992. James enjoyed working with his hands; he went to trade school to learn carpentry and for many years has worked for Plane Wood Works in Philadelphia.

Away from work, James enjoyed spending time with his soulmate Sara, camping, and enjoying nature's beauty and the outdoors. He enjoyed family game nights and playing cornhole and UNO with his buddies by the "special rules" that they had.    James will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved their "Link."
 
Family
James is the beloved son of Caesar and Doris Bennett and Denise Caruso,  treasured husband of Sara (nee Cortelyou); cherished brother of Ryan,  Sean, and Christopher; beloved son-in-law of Meg and Gary Cortelyou: loved brother-in-law of Brian and John; as well as a wonderful father to his dogs, Dory and Ella; his cats,  Sheldon and Treble; as well as a small brood of adored guinea pigs.   James is also survived by countless friends, who deeply mourn his passing.
 
Farewell Tribute
James' family will gather for a Celebration of Life at 4:00 pm on Friday, July 2, 2021, at the home of Denise Caruso, 120 Fish Pond Rd, Sewell, NJ 08080.  For his family's comfort during this difficult time, please share a memory or story of James' life for them to cherish and keep his legacy alive.
