Obituary of Margaret Anne Castagna
Margaret Anne "Peg" Castagna passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at Inspira Hospital of Mullica Hill, surrounded by her loving family. She was 81.
Legacy
Peg was the beloved wife for 58 years of the late Louis V. Castagna Jr. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late James and Regina O’Neill. She was the sister of the late Regina Richardson and Kathleen Dwyer. While being a dedicated homemaker, Peg and her husband co-owned “The Haircutters” providing for their family. Peg had an accomplished career working at Prudential, SmithKline, and the Ocean City Arts Center, where she made lifetime friendships.
Peg and Louis raised their family in Moorestown, NJ for 22 years, retiring in Ocean City, NJ where wonderful memories were made with family and friends. Final retirement years were enjoyed in Egg Harbor Township.
Peg embodied a great deal of fortitude and tenacity, never leaving you to wonder what was on her mind. “Nana” adored her family, especially her grandchildren. Peg had a unique gift of developing relationships with immediate and extended family members and friends. Peg will be dearly missed by all who knew her and loved her.
Family
Surviving are her children, Louis III (Sue) Castagna, Michele (Bob) Mizia and Diane (Daniel) Eisenhart. Nana’s grandchildren, Louis, Andrew, Jack, and Julia Castagna, Kyra, Aidan, and Evelyn Pazan, step-grandchildren Laura, Bobby, Kris, Jason, Kelli Mizia, Conrad, Henry, Claire, and Lydia Eisenhart. She is survived by brothers James (Judy) O’Neill, and Gerald (Margaret Mary) O’Neill, and many nieces and nephews.
Farewell Tribute
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and celebrate Peg's life on Friday, July 23rd from 10AM until her funeral mass at 11AM at Church of the Incarnation, 240 Main Street, Mantua, NJ 08051. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Abramson Cancer Center at https://giving.apps.upenn.edu/fund?program=MC&fund=600499&appeal=PMWEB.
