I had the honor of working with Jim in the N.J. Dept. of Education in the early 2000s. He was invariably among the most collegial, typically available for consultation and/or to hear suggestions, and/or “to put out fires” together…
His life history is emblematic. I am saddened by his departure.
My condolences to his family and closest friends.

I was blessed to finally cross paths with Jim on this journey we call life. I'm a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church and Jim joined our "Sanctuary" group. Too short a time ago. There's an old Irish song sung at many a wake which has this line, "Johnny, we hardly knew ye." That's how I feel now, "Jimmy, we hardly knew ye." Such a great loss to all who knew him for so long and to those of us who didn't get to spend more time with him on our journey.

What a Wonderful Man! All the good he did in his career, the love and devotion he had with his beloved wife. He was such a truly Present Person; who saw deeply into the truth of things, his heart and mind connected. He Listened deeply. I am so sorry that this past pandemic year limited contact to computer screens. But in a way, it was a wonderful way to look deeply into the eyes of a man who was whole. Who loved. Who Gave. And who Cared. I knew he was ill, but that never kept him engaging with our congregation via Zoom Coffee hour; singing in our Choirs technically challenging times. Blessings on your family. Treasure your memories, and warm each other with post vaccinated embraces. My sincerest condolences and love our with you. Cathie Albair, UUCCH

My last sibling has gone home...I am lost for words... The only thing I can say is what he always said to me all of the time, "What could be better than spending eternity with God?" I love you dear brother with all of my heart...and you will forever be missed and hold a very special place in my heart forever and ever.....

I had the pleasure of working with Jim at the NJDOE. He was part of the staff of PIRC-South where I was Manager. I could always count on Jim to help with anything I needed and he was well-liked and respected by the staff. I remember so many conversations with him about a variety of topics and he had such a calming manner. Years later, we worked in different office within the NJDOE and I would visit him to ask questions about districts. Again, he was most helpful and I can't forget his Sponge Bob items in his office. Jim will be missed by many colleagues. He now is free from all pain and is with his beloved Robin. Rest in Peace Jim.

I had the privilege of becoming a friend to Jim at the Gloucester County Office of Education.
Jim had a calming affect in our office and was always the first to offer help and guidance. He was respected by everyone he worked with including countless concerned parents. He really cared for everyone and loved his family with all his heart! I already miss you but I know you’ll be by Robins side as always. RIP my Good friend. I’ll never forget you. I will always remember saying good night Jim, see you tomorrow. And he would ALWAYS say, you too Deb, if the crick don’t rise!
