Obituary of Dorothy Lee Bruno

Dorothy Lee Bruno (nee Marshburn) 93 years old passed away on August 2, 2021 after a long fight with dementia.

 

Legacy

Known as “Dottie” she grew up in Jacksonville, North Carolina. Met and fell in love with a Marine and traveled to many states such as New York, North Carolina, Hawaii, California and Philadelphia.  When her husband retired from the Marines in 1968, they moved to West Deptford, New Jersey.

 

Dottie lived a wonderful life taking vacations, cruises, going to the casinos and visiting family in North Carolina.  She was a loving wife and mother and was loved by everyone because she was so friendly and nice.

 

Family

Dottie is predeceased by her parents Robert and Victoria; her loving Husband, Thomas A. and her sister, Ruth and brother James.

She is survived by 6 sisters, Faye, Velma, Flora, Ruby, Mary and Vicki;

 5 children, Patricia (Lynwood), Susan (Jon), James (Judy), Thomas (Sarah) and Caroline;

 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren with one on the way.

 

Farewell Tribute

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Dottie’s viewing on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, 9:00 – 11:00 AM at the McGuinness Funeral Home, 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury, NJ  08096, where the Funeral Ceremony will follow at 11:00 AM.  Interment at Gloucester County Veteran Memorial Cemetery, Williamstown, NJ.

 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may bemade in Dorothy Bruno’s name to National Processing Center Alzheimer Association, PO Box 96011, Washington DC  20090-6011; please add, Susan Rasmussen, 1411 Spiegle Avenue, West Deptford, NJ  08093, so that the family receives an acknowledgement.
