Obituary of Emma May Holmstrom

Obituary for: Mrs. Emma May Holmstrom

Emma Holmstrom (nee Crecelious) departed this life on August 5th, 2021 at 101 years old at her daughter & son-in-law's house in her hometown of Woodbury Heights, NJ.

She was born July 10th, 1920 in Philadelphia PA to Henry & Ethel Crecelious. She passed away from a blood clot a couple days after talking with family & knowing how much she was loved. Emma was genuinely kind and creative. She was a local artist, loved to sew and enjoyed cooking. Every year her church would host a barbeque where they featured  her homemade baked beans  and her vegetable soup was a hit on election day. It was a great time for family too, as she made extra for us to enjoy.

She was a social butterfly, had a great sense of humor and always stayed positive. She lived a wonderful life of faith, travel & adventure. We will all miss the energy she brought to every room she entered. Her spunk is something that we all inhereted from her! She worked at the Navy Yard in Philadelphia during WWII, was the president of the women's VFW in Mantua, was the president of the Altar Guild at her church Holy Trinity Church in Wenonah & was the Chaplin in the senior citizens of Woodbury Heights. She worked at Cloth World in her sixties & was able to retire.

Predeceeased by her sister Jeanie Miller, brother Harry Crecelious, and half-brother William and also her brother Herbert Crecelious. She was the wife of the late Albert Holmstrom who passed in 1980. She is survived by her brother Lloyd Crecelious, her daughters Jean (Anthony) Verna & Connie (John) Eckert, her 4 grandchildren Lisa Verna, Gina (Tom) Henshaw, Debi (Ray) Galanti, John Eckert Jr & her 4 great-grandchildren Aryon Eckert, Mackenzie Eckert, Johnny Eckert, Emma Henshaw & Thomas Henshaw along with many cousins, nieces, nephews & friends.

Family, friends and others whose lives Emma touched are invited to the viewing, service & funeral.
