“Santa” Bill Trampe is very saddened by the loss of Rick. A friend that called upon me to bring joy to his family during the Christmas holidays. I am very proud to know as a Veteran, a wonderful husband, a compassionate person that loved his family and friends.
Rest In Peace my friend. Your memories will live forever.

To Esther and Family:
Our hearts and prayers are with you and the entire Family during these painful days. Loosing Rick is very painful for us and all who knew him. He was certainly one of kind. We treasure the times that we were lucky enough to spend with both of you.
We are so thankful for the happy times we spent with you and Rick at the Ocean City house and in Florida this past February.
I know I will miss our Wednesday evenings after work when we would stop for a drink and wherever it was Rick would know almost everyone in the place. It was a trip to watch him memorize everyone with his humorous business cards and Two Dollar bills.
He and I had some good times on the Marine Corps Birthdays at Cookie's Tavern in Philly. He was a great friend, and I am proud that he counted me as one of his trends. Rick was an entertainer, a teacher and a mentor to many and he loved sharing his knowledge. We will miss him popping up on our porch after work for a cocktail.
SEMPER FI MY BROTHER! WE WILL MEET AGAIN ON THE OTHER SIDE.

To the Sykora family,
We send you our deepest condolences. My brother and I met Rick way back in 1979 when he pulled up to our job with a car full of ceiling tiles. He proceeded to hand us his calling cards, and we’ve loved him ever since. The best in the business with no equal. He will be sadly missed.

I first met Rick 40+ years ago at a major ceiling contractor convention in San Diego where I was challenged in my first outside sales position to convince attendees to consider including window coverings (blinds) into their product offering. Rick happened to be the first ceiling commercial contractor I was introduced to and hitting it off together, he immediately took me under his wing, introducing me to fellow ceiling contractors and selling them on the idea of selling blinds. I was to be selling him and he was selling for me right out of the gate. Everyone that knows Rick, knows he was the salesman’s, salesman from the moment he handed you one of his special business cards. He was a savvy business owner, strong negotiator and most fair to do business. Rick had a heart of gold, lived life to the fullest and shared his zest for life with everyone.
A couple months ago, a co-worker and I had the opportunity to connect with Rick, passing the phone back and forth and laughing our heads off while reminiscing of our shared times together and discussing plans to get together. Little did we know of Rick’s condition while he asked each of us how the other was doing. It was not about him.
He was a mentor, a friend and will be sorely missed.
Family meant everything to Rick and Lisa and I want to express our sincere condolences to Esther, Greg, Lisa, Stan and the entire Sykora Family.

I had the pleasure of knowing Rick for about 50 years when our boys were young we were in Indian guides together and went camping together usually in a cabin .
I had Gregg and Stan in my scout troop troop 18 in Pitman and then when I retired early in 1992 Rick wanted me to come and work for Erco but at the time I was working for Scot Anderson and he kept after me and finally I went to work for Erco in 2001. I chauffeured Rick around for six months as he taught me the business, and the ins and outs, and then he told me “now you’re on your own”and I was a salesman in the northern half of the state for about 16 years and I loved it. Now I’m working Part time for Gregg down in Somers point, but Rick was always a great friend, always a lot of fun; camping, the canoe trips, fishing in the Thousand Islands-and Rick would do anything for you, and did: he believed in always taking care of his workers.
His passing was very sad. However, the bright spot is he’s in heaven with his Lord now, having accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord an Savior. He is now in a much better place without pain and suffering.
Ephesians 2:8,9 says “For By grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.

I can not express my sadness at the loss of such a good person. Rick and Esther were always there for me when I worked for them. When Bill (my husband) was in the hospital with cancer I could not have asked for a more caring and loving couple.
I want Esther, Greg, Lisa and Stan to know that I share your grief and my heart aches for you.
I wish I could be there to say my last goodbye to him in person
You will always be in my heart.
With love

To the Wonderful Sykora Family,
I always felt so loved and welcomed growing up in your home. Many of my childhood memories are with your family, especially Lisa. One of my best memories was our trip to the Dominican Republic and Mr. Sykora forcing Lisa and me to play Teeth of the Dog in Casa de Campo. I can still hear him laughing. He brought so many smiles to everyone he encountered and Paul, our family, and I feel blessed to have so many memories with Mr. Sykora.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Mrs. Sykora and the entire Sykora family,

I was deeply saddened when I heard how sick Rick was . Then this week that he had passed away, and has been on my mind a lot. Rick was the last boss I worked for, after retiring from a career in shipbuilding, and even though it was only a part time job for me it was a job that I really liked. I worked for ERCO for about 11 years, then when business got really slow and I was finally laid off in 2011. When my wife passed away in October 2016 I was pleasantly surprised that both Rick and Esther came to my Peggy's viewing. He offered well wishes and support if I wanted it, a very nice gesture. So I offer my condolences to Esther, Greg, Lisa, and Stan and their families plus all Ricks friends and ERCO employees. Since I now live in northern Maine I won't be able to attend the funeral services, but my heart will be with Esther and all the family. My deepest sympathy to all - - Tom Pierson
