Obituary of Duncan Alan Brown
Duncan Alan Brown, age 67, of Woodbury, NJ passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2021.
Legacy
Friends and family fondly remember Duncan’s love of not only themselves, but also music and cars, especially hot rods from the 30’s through the 60’s. He could often be seen at various car clubs and racing events from NJ to Florida in either his Canary Yellow Chevy El Camino, his Canary Yellow Chevy Bel Air Sedan Delivery Wagon, or his 1940’s Willys, in you guessed it, Canary Yellow. He parlayed his love of music into becoming a DJ that would liven up local weddings and dances with a record collection spanning 50 years of various musical genres. He prided himself in being able to satisfy the most esoteric requests that guests would come up with whenever he was hosting an event. Anyone who knew him will remember his quick wit and how he would always greet you with “I gotta tell ya this joke, you’re gonna piss yourself” and then proceed to tell you a joke that at best made you a little uncomfortable. He really did love to make people laugh, and perhaps nothing he did was more emblematic of this then him (a rather large man, with what appeared to be a brillo pad for hair), squeezing into his Austin Healy Sprite, maybe the smallest convertible ever built by man, and scooting around the Pine Hill area, with his head sticking out 15 inches above the windshield, hair fluttering in the wind, bugs getting caught in his teeth, not a care in the world and loving the reactions he would see on people, who’s faces would quickly turn from shock to hysterical laughter at the sight. He lived to be the clown, and the world will be a duller place without him.
