John was always the class act at Weather Shield meetings. From the first time I met him, I knew he was to be respected and always with a smile and laugh. I spoke to him about 2 months ago and he still gave sage advice. My heart goes out to the family and hope that these small words mean something. Always the fun but classy guy. I will miss him.

Oh my goodness, Donna, I don't know how you and the boys, in the midst of your prodigious grief, found the quintessential photo of John at his absolute happiest in his favorite environs...in his boat on the water!! That picture captures John's persona perfectly, and although my heart is heavy with sorrow, every time I see or just think of the picture, it immediately puts a smile on my face and alleviates the pain in my heart as I remember all our times together. He will always be with us.

Donna, Nick and Johnny, and Roma and Joann and families,
It is so difficult to absorb the abrupt loss of one of the truly good guys in life. If you were lucky enough to be John’s friend, you knew without hesitation it was a friendship for life. He was our confidant, advisor.
I was lucky enough to be with John one afternoon recently when he was working the Villari Wine Table at an outdoor function, and I overheard him talking to one of the new co-workers there. He bragged about his two wonderful sons and then said, “And now that they are gone and we are empty nesters, it is so nice to be getting to know my wife all over again and we are having so much fun.”
Such a poignant view of life and such a tribute to how much he loved you, Donna, through thick and thin. What greater gift could one give in life?
John was a proxy grandfather to my grandkids on Bobby’s behalf. He would have been such a wonderful grandfather to Nick and John’s kids. You think he was proud of Nick and John? Can you only imagine how proud he would be as a grandfather! The good thing is he will stay in your hearts, Nick, and John, and he will be a Grandfather Guardian angel one day.
The loss of John is more difficult than any family should have to bear. Please just know that your wonderful and strong family are with you always for support. And your extended family-friends too.
