Obituary of Joseph P. Quinn
Joseph P. Quinn, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away suddenly on Monday, November 22, 2021 He was aged 35 years.
Legacy
Born in Woodbury and raised in Brooklawn; Joey graduated from Gloucester High School in 2004. Joey worked as Business Contact for Hybrix, Inc. in Wilmington which is contracted with FedEX Corporation.
Growing up, Joey played Little League Baseball for Brooklawn and aspired to be a pro during those years. He was a Two Street Stomper and loved being a part of the revelry every New Year’s Day.
Away from work, Joey enjoyed countless hours of time playing with Samantha's children; family road trips and days spent at the beach. Joey will be remembered as a quick witted; loving and devoted man who loved his family and friends more than they will ever know. In his passing; Joey's giving nature continues as he was harvested allowing other lives to continue and flourish through the Gift of Life program. His legacy continues in his death to help others.
Family
Joey is the beloved fiancé of Samantha Mills; loving "Daddy" of Taylor, Jayce & Tessa Mills; cherished brother of Tommy and his wife Lauren and Michael Quinn; dear son of Catherine (nee Gorman) Quinn and Thomas Quinn; cherished uncle of Keira, Kai & Kallen Quinn; Godparents, Nancy Ghicondey and Thomas O’Donnell. Joey is also survinged by his mother-in-law, Wendy. Joey is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Joey is also survived by his K-9 companion, Onyx. Joey is also survived by a dear friend; Cynthia Muldoon.
The family and friends of Joseph would like to say special thank you and express sincere gratitude to the New Castle County Police Department, Paramedics, Christiana Care Trauma Medical staff for A217, Christiana Care Chaplains, Gift of Life – Transplant Coordinators, medical staff for Walk of Honor for their respecting Joseph’s dignity and caring for all family and friends with meticulous, empathetic and compassionate care. You all made an extraordinary difference.
Farewell Tribute
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation after 4:00PM on Sunday, December 5, 2021 and Monday December 6, 2021 8:15 ~ 10:15 AM in the McGuinness Funeral Home, 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury. His Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM in Holy Angels Parish at St. Patrick's R. C. Church, Cooper Street, Woodbury. Interment Woodbury Memorial Park, West Deptford, NJ.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a memorial fund established to assist his family with final expenses by visiting the Joseph Quinn Memorial Fund
