Obituary of Kathleen M. Egan
Kathleen M. Egan, a long-time resident of Woodbury New Jersey, passed away peacefully at her home on December 9, 2021.
The eldest of seven children, Kathy was born in Philadelphia to the late Catherine and Joseph Egan and raised in Upper Darby, PA. Upon graduation from Archbishop Prendergast Catholic High, she married William Morrissey and both parents were overjoyed at the birth of their only child Theresa.
Widowed at 30, Kathy pursued her passion for special education. She was highly educated, earned two Masters of Education degrees and was a beloved teacher at Woodstown High School for over 25 years. Kathy was a consummate educator and always went the extra mile for her students.
She later remarried and was a loving stepmother to her two stepchildren. Kathy was a devoted grandmother, and the lights of her life were her 3 grandchildren. She wore the title of "Mom-Mom" proudly.
Kathleen is survived by her daughter Theresa Nichols and son-in-law Rick, her grandchildren Alexandra, Logan and Julia, her sister Maureen (EJ), her brothers, Joseph (Kathy), Michael and Brian and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Along with her parents, she is predeceased by her sister Mimi and brother Jimmy.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Sunday, December 19, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Monday, December 20, from 9:00 AM to 10:15 AM at the McGuinness Funeral Home located at 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury NJ.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM at Holy Angels Parish at Saint Matthew's Catholic Church located at 4th and Monument Avenue, National Park, NJ.
