Obituary of Helen A. Smith

Helen A. Smith (McCallion) beloved wife of the late Marvin J. Smith of Washington Township formerly Phila., PA gained her wings on March 13, 2022 at the age of 90.

Devoted Mother of Kevin M. Smith (MaryAnn Smith) and Deborah J. Smith-Davis (James E. Sprinkle) and adoring Grandmother of Brian J. Davis, Colin P. Davis, Andrew M. Smith and Dr. Julianne Smith Knecht (Robert Knecht) and Great Grandmother to Joseph Kevin Knecht and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

Helen loved music, singing and dancing. When she heard a beat she couldn't stay in her seat. She loved ice hockey and was a die hard Flyers Fan. But she enjoyed Youth Hockey more. She traveled all over the U.S. and Canada with her Grandsons and was always in the stands at every game and tournament. The team affectionately dubbed her Hockey Grandmom. Helen was also an avid reader and would love nothing better than a hot cup of tea and a good book.

Helen was predeceased by her Loving parents Thomas and Annamae McCallion. She grew up during the Great Depression in the shadow of WWII in a large family. Helen was the oldest sibling of brothers Thomas (Micky) McCallion, Arthur McCallion, Sisters Elizabeth O'Kane, Jacqueline O'Brien, Catherine Krecko and Annamae McCallion.

When she entered heaven, she was reunited with the love of her life, Marvelous Marv and I can hear him greeting her with his familiar "Hi Ya Toots!"

She taught us to be grateful for small blessings and her kindness showed in her smiling Irish eyes. Please continue to honor her by Loving each other graciously, living earnestly and forgiving easily.

Farewell Tribute

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Monday, March 21st from 9:00AM to 11:00AM in the McGuinness Funeral Home - (Washington Township Location), 573 Egg Harbor Road, Sewell, NJ 08080. Funeral Service at 11:00AM. Interment to follow in the Manahath Cemetery, Glassboro, NJ.
