Roseanna was a dedicated nurse and would always pitch in when needed. We had many a lunch conversations over her cooking and love of the out doors. She admired her family very much and her grand children were her pride and joy.I know she will be missed very much.May she Rest In Peace

We will miss our talks on the porch with Rose dearly, but in the same way we thank Our Lord for the gift of her friendship for so many years. We have many happy memories that we will cherish always and we will remember her for her smile and love for adventure. She was a woman of true Christian values and it was a beautiful thing to see her live that out as a pro life advocate and as she would stand up for the truth. May she rest in the peace of Christ and that is our prayer for you all, that you may feel the consolation of Christ in these times. She had a deep love for her family and we can now see what a beautiful family she raised! One of Our favorite memory was when she asked us to give her Spanish classes and one of the sentences in the book was “mi nieta baila” as I repeated this sentence she knew her Spanish and got very excited and said “hold on” and she got up and grabbed a picture of her granddaughter dancing. She beamed with excitement and said “mi nieta baila!” It was such a sweet moment we will always treasure. It was an absolute honor to be her friend. May she Rest In Peace

Notes on Mom:
She died in the same way that she lived, she always left a party without a goodbye. Me, Ricky, Becky, Randy and Robin struggled with that until we went to her house and saw the evidence that her love for us surrounded her with many handwritten notes of thanks and love. She held no value in material things, her love was in God, and firmly believed that she would spend eternity with him in heaven. She was known to say that when she got to heaven, she had a lot of questions for God and we know she had many.
The other thing we noticed is that her children and grandchildren were the only thing she truly valued besides her faith in God. I think I can speak for all my siblings that we really thought we had much more time with Mom, and each of us wish we could go back in time and cherish her while she was here. The what ifs would overcome us except that every item in her house, while not valuable to another, was a token of love from or for her children. Wether it be a handwritten thank you to us or that she saved every gift we gave her.
Things we took for granted is that Mom was completely selfless, she only cared about taking care of others. We took for granted that she was eternally patient with each of us…she was never angry or firm with any of us. There was never a doubt in any of our minds that if we needed her she was there. Her love was expressed by her actions to us.
Now for all of you that know Mom, we all know she was quirky and could be obstinate. My saying was whatever you should do, Mom will do the opposite. But as we children aged, we came to appreciate that about her and we are all happy to have her as our Mother and appreciate the time we had with her. It did take maturity to realize, but I’m most thankful for the strong values she taught and demonstrated to us. She was unwaveringly strong in her Christian faith from teaching Bible School in the neighborhood to believing strongly in the sanctity of an unborn child. She studied the Bible with a thirst for knowledge and passed with her Bible next to her.
We also grew to appreciate that we had an interesting Mother that enjoyed hiking and biking, enjoyed going to the gun range and showing off her perfect markmanship on the target to us. We grew to realize that we had an adventurous fun mother that would travel to Costa Rica alone to backpack, kayak and zipline, visit the ark, and hike the Appalachian trail. Which we all thought her demise would actually come from encountering a grizzly bear while she was alone hiking for days without a phone. We were lucky to have a Mom that was a very hard worker and spent her career as a nurse taken care of the elderly.
We appreciate that she spent time with us as kids instead of material things. Mom would play the piano and sing to us, she would play the accordion, she would make us homemade bread , she would show us how to make homemade pasta, and homemade goat cheese and how to jar her fruit and vegetables she would grow and never cared if we made a mess doing it. We may not have had a TV as children but she played scrabble and Pente and Monopoly with us, and now as adults We realize that her time was the most important thing . I will miss that secure feeling knowing I could call her and say, “ Mom can you make a blanket? You’re going to be a great Grandmom” and her saying “I already did”
What we now know is we are very blessed to have had such a beautiful, talented, dependable and interesting Mother. We will also learn to accept that we were blessed to have a Mother that was healthy and vibrant and lived life passionately until the last night she went to bed after work and Jesus called her home to him peacefully as she slept.
I think the thing we will miss the most about Mom is her infectious unique bubbly laughter and her beautiful penmanship in her loving notes she would write and her voice that was always patient and happy to hear from each of us.
We will miss you so deeply Mom and look forward to dancing with you in heaven.
Loving Daughter,
Rhosalee Faith Parkin
