Obituary of Frank George McCurdy

Frank George McCurdy, of Oak Valley Section of Deptford, New Jersey, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2022. He was 88. Legacy Born and raised in Philadelphia, Frank served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict where he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal. Following his service and returning home, Frank met and married, Lorraine Kilinewski with whom he shared 65 years of marriage with before her passing in 2020. Frank was a life long bricklayer and for a period of about 20 years he worked as a Stevedore for Holt International in Gloucester. Away from work, Frank was passionate about his family and his faith. He was a life member of the St. Margaret Knights of Columbus Council 13259 and was very instrumental in the building of the Church Altar at St. Margaret Church. Frank was Past President of Oak Valley Athletic Association where he was a longtime umpire, coach and referee for youth athletics. He is a Gloucester County Hall of Fame Volunteer Member for countless years of volunteer service. He enjoyed bowling, watching Western movies and ringing in each New Year marching up Broad Street with Saturnalian Fancy Brigades. Frank was also a faithful Eagles and Phillies fan through the good and lean seasons. He will be fondly remembered for his quick wit and warm smile. Frank will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Family Frank is the beloved husband of the late Lorraine (nee Klinewski)McCurdy; loving father of Lorraine Cavallaro (Joe), Frank McCurdy (Karen), Mary Jane Quinn (Mike),Michael McCurdy(the late Colleen) and Daniel McCurdy (Gina); cherished grandfather of Joey, Frankie, Kristen, Alyssa, Kelli, Eddie, Daniela, Gianna and great grandfather of Kyleigh, Joey, Brayden, Sawyer, Mila, Everly, Cooper and Louie; brother of Ruth, Dot, Carol, Marie, Marion, Bobby and the late Bill, Ricky & Tom. Farewell Tribute Relatives and friends are invited to attend Frank's viewing on Friday, October 7, 2022 9:30 to 10:45 AM in the Infant Jesus Parish at St. Margaret R. C.
