Our family has known Mr. Buchert for many years. We met him as principal of Central school. A few years later as principal of Shady Lane. Thanks to him, I started a career in education. We loved getting his Christmas cards and letters noting his travels. Our family owes him a lot of thanks over the years. He will be sorely missed by many. He now can rest. He was never a fan of being idle. Our prayers go out to his family.

Charles and I served together as administrators in the Deptford Township School District. He was a dedicated and hardworking professional, always acting in the best interests of his students. We could always count on Charles to liven up our administrative meetings! After our retirements a number of us enjoyed meeting for our monthly luncheons. Charles remained active in the Scouts, and he always enthusiastically shared his involvement with the group. I am so sorry to learn of his passing. I know his family will take comfort in knowing how many lives Charles has positively influenced in his work in education and with the Scouts. My deepest condolences to his family!

I am sad to let Charlie Buchert's friends and so many scouts know that we have lost a great individual. I knew Charlie as a fellow educator and scout leader. He was always striving to educate children. He was a leader when it came to the first computers being used in schools. He was an outstanding educator and leader in Boy Scouts. I remember him leading and teaching young scouts how to string sound system wiring for Deptford Day. Then there were his many instructional "Tick Talks" at Camp Roosevelt. He dedicated his whole life to serving others. Rest in Peace dear friend. You will be missed by so many, but Jesus will welcome you with open arms. You never did anything but love your fellow man, just like Christ.

Charlie has left a lasting impression on me as the quintessential, selfless volunteer. I had the pleasure of serving w/him in leadership at BSA Troop 225, Deptford, NJ. (1996 - 2006) His dedication to the boys of Troop 225, and at Camp Roosevelt (Salem Co., NJ) has turned out some pretty amazing, young men - many of whom have become strong leaders - exactly what America needs in the troubled times we face today. Thanks to people like Charlie, we can have hope in the future of our country, because he was instrumental in training up men of faith, integrity and love of country. Thanks, ‘Mr B’ for your life of service and dedication.
