Obituary of JoAnn Morrell

JoAnn A. Morrell, 81, of West Deptford, New Jersey, passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. 

Legacy

Born and raised in South Philadelphia, PA, JoAnn and her love, William, moved to South Jersey in 1969.  They moved from the city life to the suburbs where JoAnn ruled the house.  She missed sitting out on the stoop, talking to the neighbors, but got used to walking down the street to meet the neighbors and make new friends.  When her children were grown, JoAnn enjoyed her job at Best Uniform.

A strong willed woman, JoAnn was devoted to her family.  Her life was dedicated to taking care of her children, grandchildren and many other children that became a part of the family  Her most important title was MomMom.   Life lessons were instilled in her children and passed down to her grandchildren… the most important one to stand up for yourself.  Many memories were made during their summers down in Strathmere.  JoAnn also enjoyed trips to the casinos and playing bingo.

Beloved wife of 60 years to William Morrell, Sr.; dedicated mother to her children JoAnn (Mario) Masano and William (Jeannie) Morrell, Jr.; loving grandmother of Billy, Marissa, Gia and Donato; dear sister of Jim (Donna) Rogers, Pat Rogers and Ida Mae (George) Pogue; beloved Aunt Gan to Megan (Mike) Kirby and Jesse (Laurel).  JoAnn is predeceased by her siblings Rita, Frank and Joe.

Farewell Tribute

Relatives and friends are invited to JoAnn’s visitation on Friday, 2:00 – 3:00 PM, McGuinness Funeral Home, 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury, New Jersey where the Funeral Ceremony will follow at 3:00 PM.
