Obituary of George F. Holcomb
George F. Holcomb, of Mantua, formerly of Gloucester City and Philadelphia, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2022. He was 79.
Legacy
Born and raised in Philadelphia, George settled in Gloucester City where he and his family remained for more than 30 years. While living in Gloucester, George along with his wife founded Holcomb Bus Service which has flourished and grown over the past 40 years.
George proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War in Korea. Away from work, George's greatest joy was the time spent with his grandchildren creating memories that will be cherished as his legacy. George will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Family
George is the beloved husband of Evelyn "Lyn;" devoted father of Jackie, George (Cindy) & AJ (Megan) Holcomb; cherished grandfather of Becca, Tyler, Georgia, Reese, Jamison, Logan, Greyson & Kinsley; dear brother of Mary Ann McDonald, Tom Holcomb, John Holcomb and the late Terry Owens.
Farewell Tribute
Relatives and friends are invited to attend George's viewing on Saturday, December 17, 2022 in St. Clare of Assisi Parish at St. Michael's R. C. Church, 313 Memorial Avenue, Gibbstown, 9 to 10:45 AM where his Funeral Mass will follow at 11 AM. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, Chews Landing. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in George's memory may be made to Autism Speaks by visiting www.autismspeaks.org
