Obituary of Mariannina Santarelli

Mariannina Santarelli (nee Pupi), 92, of Mantua, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, January 16, 2023.

Legacy

She was a loving and caring wife, mother, Nonna, aunt, sister and friend. Mariannina loved to be around her family especially her grandchildren. She was born in Santa Rufina, Italy, met her husband and started a family in Philadelphia's Germantown Section, before moving to Deptford, NJ. She loved cooking for her family, crocheting, sewing and gardening. She jarred her own tomatoes and loved growing her own vegetables. She enjoyed making her famous espresso and celebrating “Fish Night” every Christmas Eve.

Family

She was the beloved wife of 58 years to the late Dante Santarelli. Devoted mother of Ivo Santarelli (Linda) and Christopher Santarelli (Karen). Loving Nonna of Christina(David), Elizabeth (Jacob), Matthew, Brianna, and Dominic. Adored great Nonna of Giavanna, Ayden, Victoria and Hunter. Daughter of the late Franco and late Filomena Pupi. Dear sister of Violanda (Domenico), Teresa (late Gustavo), late Ettore, late Giovanni (late Lucia), late Livio (Elza). She was so loved and will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, and extended family in Italy and Australia.

Farewell Tribute

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on January 26th from 10:00AM to 10:45AM in the Infant Jesus Parish at St. Margaret's Church, 3rd and Beech Street, Woodbury Heights, NJ 08097. Funeral Mass at 11:00AM. Interment will be private at the request of the family.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to St. Margaret's School 773 3rd St., Woodbury Heights, NJ 08097.
