Obituary of Neil J. Corker

Neil James Corker, of Mantua, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 11, 2023.  He was 91.

 Legacy
Neil was an only child but, luckily, he married a woman with 12 brothers and sisters. He loved everyone in Mom’s family so much and couldn’t wait to drive to Montreal to visit as many of them as he could and, as often as he could. Dad spoke of his nieces and nephews and, later, their children, as if they were his own. He was a true family man and loved his wife and two daughters fiercely and often spent sleepless nights worrying about their safety and happiness. He was the definition of unconditional love.

Some would say he was generous to a fault, not only with his money but with his time and attention. He would drop everything if anyone he knew needed his assistance. He loved anything on wheels. His garage full of tools was his happy place. From owning a service/gas station to driving a Greyhound bus and his own tractor/trailer, he could operate
and fix anything.  Neil will be remembered for his great sense of humor and for being the life of the party, he was always smiling & laughing. Some of Neil's hobbies, besides fixing things, were collecting toy trains, watching news and movies, especially rom-coms, and reading news magazines. He spent the winters in Florida most of his adult life, moving there full-time about 30 years ago. Dad moved back to Jersey primarily because he missed his daughters so much.

Family
Neil is survived by his wife, Huguette, and his two daughters, Carole (Jim) Gwathney and Johanne Corker. Loving uncle to numerous nieces and nephews, and a dear friend to many.
