Obituary of Patti L Spitz

Patti Spitz, 73, was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday, March 12, 2023, after battling lung cancer.

Legacy

Patti was born to Russell and Eleanor (Holly) Johnson, on December 4, 1949, in Greensburg, PA and grew up in Johnstown, PA. She subsequently lived in Philadelphia, PA and Somers Point, NJ before retiring to Venice, FL. In 1975 Patti met John Spitz and they were married in 1976 in Philadelphia, PA. Together they raised two children: John Jr. and Jodie. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling, gardening, going to the beach and ocean, and seeing her grandchildren.

Family

Patti is survived by her husband John Spitz, son John Spitz Jr. (Avery Spitz), daughter Jodie O’Brien (William O’Brien III), and her grandchildren Johnny Spitz III, Jimmy Spitz, Aubrey O’Brien and Brady O’Brien. She was preceded in death by her father Russell Johnson, mother Eleanor Johnson, and brother Russell Johnson Jr.

Farewell Tribute

A visitation with the family will be on Thursday, March 23, 2023 from 11:00 am  to 1:00 pm with a service at 1:00 pm at the McGuiness Funeral Home located at 573 Egg Harbor Rd, Sewell (Washington Township), NJ, 08080.

Memorial Contributions

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts “In honor of Patti Spitz” may be directed to support the lung cancer research of Dr. Julie Brahmer at the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center.
