Obituary of Gina Marie Friars

Gina Friars (nee Dixon), of West Deptford passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2023. She was 62.

Legacy

Gina Friars was born at Methodist Hospital, Philadelphia on October 23, 1960. She attended West Deptford High School and graduated class of 1979. In school she met Charles Friars and later they were married at St. Patrick’s church in Woodbury on December 6, 1980. Gina loved spending time with her family and taking vacations to the Jersey Shore and Disneyworld. Gina was an avid antiquer and spent many days treasure hunting through vintage shops and thrift stores. She also enjoyed adventurous trips with her best friend Debbie to exotic locations like Alaska, Brazil, and Ecuador. Gina was an animal lover and cared for many pets throughout her life including Luna, Pete, Rudy, Sadie, Pebbles, Buddy, Scooby, and Kitty. She always encouraged her kids to chase their dreams and give their all in everything they do. Most of all Gina loved being a mother and grandmother to her numerous children.

Family

Gina is the beloved wife of Charles "Moey" Friars; loving mother of Jason & his wife Alacee Friars, Michael Friars, Dylan and his wife Allison Friars & Ryan Friars and his girlfriend Cassie Terranova; cherished grandmother of Jade, Jameson and Andie: dear sister of Mary Lebeau and her husband Scott, Timothy Dixon and his wife Cindy and Mark Dixon and his girlfriend Diane Snow. Also survived by her stepmother Mary Dixon and her sister-in-law Diane Friars Weems. She was predeceased by her father Eugene Dixon and her mother Mary Crowley Dixon.

Farewell Tribute

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Wedensday, June 7, 2023 after 10 AM in the McGUINNESS FUNERAL HOME, 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury where her Memorial Service will follow at 11:30 AM. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Gina's memory to the Animal Welfare Association, 509 Centenial Blvd. Voorhees, NJ 08043.
