Obituary of Charles E. Murtaugh
Charles “Chalie” E. Murtaugh, 88, of Westville, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 29, 2023.
Legacy
Chalie was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend. He loved to be around his family, especially his grandchildren. Chalie served in the United States Army during the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was the President and Coach of Westville Little League, served on the Board of Education for Westville Public Schools and Gateway Regional High School, Treasurer of the Westville Lions Club, and Secretary for the Westville Fire District. He retired from Honeywell as a Lab Engineer after 39 years in 1995. He was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan.

Family
He is the beloved husband of the late Patricia Murtaugh (nee Bryson). Devoted father of Chuck Murtaugh (Joanna), Steve Murtaugh (Barbara), Jeannemarie Rambo (Glenn), and the late Kelly. Adored grandfather of Amy (Eric), Nicole (John), Chase, Connor, Chloe and Jordan. Treasured great grandfather of Aaron, Charleston, Charlotte and Grace. Son of the late Margaret (nee McCaffrey) and the late James Murtaugh.
Farewell Tribute
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Friday, June 9th from 5:00PM to 8:00PM in the McGuinness Funeral Home - (Woodbury Location), 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury, NJ. 08096. Funeral Mass the next day Saturday, June 10th at 10:30AM in St. Mary's Church, 426 Monmouth Street, Gloucester City, NJ 08030. Interment to Follow in New St. Mary's Cemetery, Bellmawr, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Westville Lions Club.
