Joseph Dries

Joseph F. Dries, Jr., age 78, of Newfield, NJ passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, June 15, 2023.

Joe was afforded a second chance at life when he received a heart transplant at the University of Pennsylvania in April of 2014. He was able to return to his full life and enjoyed every moment until he contracted COVID in November of 2022. Although Joe’s health declined after this, he never lost his strong personality and zest for life and, as expected, continued to surprise us. Joe will forever be remembered for the passion with which he approached his interests. He was a horse enthusiast and loved cats, the Philadelphia Eagles, photography and traveling. After retiring from his longtime business, Computer Run in Pitman, New Jersey, he pursued his true passion which was owning an Arabian horse farm, where he bred, raised and sold his horses.

Joe leaves behind his loving wife, Mariann Pokalo, his two sons, Joseph III, Erik and their families, his special sister-in-law, Sandie, as well as grandchildren, nephew, cousins, and dear friends.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Camden County Veteran’s Cemetery at Harleigh Cemetery, 1640 Haddon Avenue, Camden, NJ.
