Obituary of Joanne Romano
Joanne Romano, (nee Giunta) of Williamstown, New Jersey, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023. She was 88.
Legacy
Born and raised in Gangi, Sicily, Joanne came to the United States in 1949. A short time later she met, fell in love and married Stephen Romano. Together they shared more than 53 years of marriage and raised four children to adulthood.
Joanne enjoyed a career that spanned more than 40 years for State of New Jersey as a bus driver until she retired in 2015. Joanne and her husband owned and operated A Affordable Limousine Service for more than 10 years and were members of Deborah Heart & Lung Center.
Joanne will be fondly remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, GG, and friend. She was the glue of her family, always selfless, doing anything for her husband and children. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, baking, entertaining family with Stephen and hosting holiday gatherings, especially Christmas. Joanne was a "social butterfly" who loved engaging people in conversation and telling her life story. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Joanne is the beloved wife of the late Stephen Romano; loving mother of Deborah Kish and her husband David, Nicholas Romano and his wife Barbara, Stephen Romano and his wife Debi and Joseph Romano and his companion Kristin Triano; mother in law of Linda Romano and the late Alan Marles; cherished grandmother of Crystal (Patrick), Joe (Danielle), Ashley (Sean), Stephen; step grandmother of Alan (Shannon) Marles; loving great grandmother of Emily, Jayden, Emma Lee, Ryan, Aaron, Hailey, Michael and Kieran; step grandmother of Alex, Brandon, Stephanie and the late Hope & AJ; dear sister of Maryann Nave. Joanne is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Farewell Tribute
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Monday, July 10, 2023 at 10:30AM in Our Lady of Peace Parish at Saint Mary's RC Church, 32 Carroll Avenue, Williamstown (Monroe Twp.) where her Funeral Mass will follow at 12 Noon. Entombment will follow at New Saint Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum, 515 Browning Road, Bellmawr. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Joanne's memory may be made to Deborah Heart & Lung Center by visiting www.deborahfoundation.org or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital by visiting www.stjude.org. Arrangements are under the direction of the McGUINNESS FUNERAL HOME of Woodbury & Washington Twp.
