Obituary of Jean C Hawkins

Jean C. Hawkins (Thrush), of Aura, Elk Twp., New Jersey, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2023.  
 
Legacy
Jean was raised as a child in Maine and moved to Chatham, NJ, where she graduated from Chatham High School.  She then went onto college and graduated from Lebanon Valley College.  Shortly after graduating college, she received a job working as a social worker for the State of N.J.   She spent over 40 years working in her field and truly loved her job.  Jean was a member of the Eastern Star & the Soroptimist.  A long-time member of the Auro United Methodist Church.

Jean met her late husband Allan at a ballroom dancing event in Oaklyn, NJ and they fell in love.  They were married for 68 years!!  She loved ice cream and ate it almost every single night.

She is the beloved Wife of the late Allan Lutz Hawkins; loving mother of Brenda Geist (George) Lois Sahina (Joseph) and Jay A. Hawkins (Judy); cherished grandmother of Gregory, Justin, Alexis, Julianne and Victoria and great grandmother of Claire, Sofia, Hannah, Maxim and Xander; dear sister of the late Paula Clifton.
 
Farewell Tribute
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the McGuinness Funeral Home, 573 Egg Harbor Road, Sewell, NJ 08080.  Funeral Service will begin at 11 AM at the funeral home. 

Interment to follow at the Aura Cemetery, 901 Aura Road, Monroeville (County Road 667 & Whig Lane, Monroeville, NJ For GPS)
