Obituary of James F Hagerty

James Francis Hagerty, age 69, of Williamstown, New Jersey passed away peacefully on July 18, 2023. Born and raised in Gloucester Heights, NJ.

Legacy

As a Gloucester High School graduate (Class of 1972), James excelled as an athlete in football. James (#89) and his team went undefeated for three consecutive seasons, 1969, 1970, and 1971.  To this day, the teams are still recognized as the best team in Lions history.  With his vast knowledge of football, he enjoyed watching his favorite team, the Philadelphia Eagles. After high school, James started working at Johns Manville. James dedicated 48 years of service to Johns Manville and retired in 2021.

Family

James was predeceased by his parents James and Rosemarie (“Anderson”). Survived by his wife of 22 years Elizabeth Hagerty (nee Hasselman), children, James (Nicole) Hagerty, Stacy (Francis) Scher, Kelly (Robert) DeTurk, Jennifer Sheppard and Donald Bailey, siblings John (Patricia), Michael (Karen), Walter (Sis), Denise (David), and Linda (Michael). Caring Grandfather (Pop-Pop Jim) to Jay, Frankie, Makenna, Brendan, Cole, Bobby, Caden, Josh, Kane, Elizabeth, River, Garrett, Haven, Mia, Aaliyah, Dominic, and Colton, great grandchildren Lilliana and Jaymeson, and many nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.

Farewell Tribute

Family and friends are invited to his viewing on Wednesday, July 26 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM in the McGuinness Funeral Home (Washington Twp. Location) 573 Egg Harbor Road, Sewell, NJ 08080. Funeral Service at 4:00PM. Interment will be private.
