Obituary of Loretta Greathead

GREATHEAD, LORETTA [nee Jankauskas], 76, of Sewell, NJ passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on June 17, 2023.
 
LEGACY
Loretta retired as an Administrative Assistant with Towers Perrin in Philadelphia. She was kind, generous, and caring to her friends and family. Her husband Tom and their children were the center of her life, especially her beloved Granddaughter and Great-Grandaughter. She had a sense of honesty and would ‘tell it like it is‘. She never complained, taking life one step at a time, being optimistic and relying on her Roman Catholic faith in times of adversity. She had a great sense of humor, a love of board games [especially Dominos], watching soap operas, and game shows [true fan of Jeopardy], football and meatballs! A social person, she loved traveling and meeting new people, celebrations -- the 4th of July, the Irish Weekend at the Shore, Christmas [a fan of Hallmark ornaments], and in retirement the many social events at the Village of Country Gardens.

FAMILY
She was born in Philadelphia to the late John and Elizabeth {Mastaitis] Jankauskas on September 12, 1946, and was the loving wife of the late Thomas ‘Tom’ Greathead for 38 years. Beloved Mother of Laura Jean Greathead, Kathleen Gallagher, Janine [Doug] Yerk, Grandmother of Krystal Greathead and Great Grandmother of Abigail Greathead. Dear Sister of John [Roberta] Jankauskas, and the late Robert ‘Bob’ Jankauskas. She will be missed by her niece and nephews, cousins and friends, especially her faithful canine companion, Bailey.

FAREWELL TRIBUTE
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Thursday, August 31, 2023 from 10:00AM to 11:00AM at McGuiness Funeral Home [Washington Twp], 573 Egg Harbor Road, Sewell, NJ 08080. Funeral Mass to follow at 11:30AM in the Mary, Mother of Mercy Parish at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 500 Greentree Road, Glassboro, NJ 08028. Private interment will be at a later date in Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Medical Center or the charity of your choice.
